Groom Mate, unlike most companies, does not make a battery operated model.  Some people will like this, and some won't, but ultimately it's a matter of personal preference.  The most apparent downside to being manually operated is that it takes a bit longer to operate.  Also, this Groom Mate model is one of the most expensive nose hair trimmers on the market.  However, it's also a very high quality model and will last a very long time, so if you enjoy it, you are getting a great value.  Realize if you want to use it as an ear hair trimmer it will not work very well, and you might be better off with an electric nose and ear hair trimmer.  But if you are looking for a non-battery operated nose hair trimmer, this is one of the best models out there.
